So many people make a resolution on December 31st or January 1st, but
you can make a resolution at any point during the year!

I think the this October is a great time to make a resolution so that
you learn to make good decisions before the holidays. For example, if
your resolution is to lose weight, how great would it be to have already
met your goal come January 1st?

Yes, it is more difficult to lose weight or stop smoking during the
holidays because there is a lot of food and added stress, but if you can
fight the cravings during the holidays, then you can fight your cravings
any time of year!

The most important thing to realize about achieving a resolution is that
it is not a short term goal or "fix." A resolution is a lifestyle
change. You must be willing and able to make a change in your life and
stick with it.

Perhaps your resolution is to meet a specific goal. Why not get started
on it right now. You will be thankful a few months from now when you
realize how much you have worked toward accomplishing your goal. Below I
have outlined a plan for you to achieve your resolutions:

Set a long term goal (six months to one year). Make sure it is specific.
Set a series of short terms goals (one week or one month).
Establish a support system. Make sure you are not alone.
If short term goals are not being met, reassess. Establish a reward
system.

It is important to make sure that you have a clear view of what you
want. Instead of saying "I want to find my perfect job" you need to
figure out what your perfect job is (long term goal) and set up short
term goals so that you can reach your dream job in the future.

The most important part of the plan is #4. One of the main reasons why
we do not reach our resolutions is because we do not re-evaluate our
original goal. Setting a long term goal means unexpected things are
going to occur along the way. You MUST reassess when you find yourself
not accomplishing your short term goals.

I encourage you seek what you want in life. After all, you deserve it!
Realize, it may take time and that will require you to be patient. But
you can and will achieve your resolutions.
