After looking at the results log file i found that the error started back in April. After that it keeps "Continuing from last save file" and moving up on the iteration and reports the same type of error over and over.
That's not good.
Iteration: 12766464/23666821, ERROR: ROUND OFF (0.4997425079) > 0.40 Continuing from last save file.
So does this imply that back on Apr 17 my CPU started to have problems (AMD Athalon) and if so why does the prime continue to do work when the results are in error?
Any error that prime95 detects will not corrupt your result. However, prime95 can miss detecting a hardware error and then your final result will be bad. If you've had more than a 5 errors there is a good chance that one was missed.
SO if I replace the CPU do i need to start this over from start or can I tell it to kick off from the first error?
It may not be the CPU. It could be overheating, in which case cleaning the fans and heatsink and checking the air flow may solve your problem. Or it could be bad memory or a weak power supply. Diagnosing the true problem is not easy.
If you have backups of the save files from early April, I'd restart from there.
Sorry for the bad news,
Geroge
