Except that there are now >41< Mersenne primes (and thus even perfect numbers) - that is, unless somebody has recently discovered a 42nd one and we are awaiting confirmation :). It *is* true that the 39 smallest are known, and it will be some time before we know how the two most recently confirmed will rank.
