Hello all,

Running mprime 23.9.2 on my i686 Linux 2.44.22 (Fedora Core 1), I get a
reproducible segfault after "stage 1 GCD":

[Oct 27 10:44] M34201171 stage 1 is 98.49% complete. Time: 769.143 sec.
M34201171 stage 1 complete. 1096498 transforms. Time: 41811.942 sec.
Starting stage 1 GCD - please be patient.
Stage 1 GCD complete. Time: 186.462 sec.
zsh: segmentation fault mprime -d

If I restart mprime (I use "mprime -d"), there is a short time during
which it goes through this:

Starting P-1 factoring on M34201171 with B1=380000, B2=7125000
Chance of finding a factor is an estimated 5.07%
P-1 on M34201171 with B1=380000, B2=7125000
M34201171 stage 1 complete. 4002 transforms. Time: 151.039 sec.
Starting stage 1 GCD - please be patient.
Stage 1 GCD complete. Time: 185.141 sec.

then it segfaults again. This is reproducible on all PC I can get hold of
(Pentium 4, Linux 2.4.22, Fedora Core 1, glibc 2.3.2). The computers I
should not be the root of the problem, since they're all number-crunching
beasts (they are my lab machines, theoretical chemistry is fairly
intensive in floating-point operations).

If need be, I can help you trace this bug out, if you tell me how to.
First investigations with ElectricFence point to:

ElectricFence Aborting: free(7d811bac): address not from malloc().

Thanks for your help,

Franois-Xavier

PS: I checked integrity of my mprime binary (same md5sum as the one from
the tarball)
