There is one solution. This requires mprime on Linux and ntprime in addition to Prime95 on Windows because the regular Prime95 does not support a commandline "-c" option.
You will need to run two instances of mprime or one each of Prime95/ntprime. The main one will do all the processing, while the second will be invoked through a cronjob and will only be used to communicate with the Primenet server.
Set the main thread to NOT communicate automatically by setting ManualCommunication=1. That way, only your mprime -c thread will try to communicate with Primenet and if it hangs you do not lose any work. Anurag
