As a builder of Intel based computers for resale I have some additional
useful information.

On Intel Pentium 4 processors with speeds of 3GHz and above and especially
with L2 Cache sizes larger than 512, Intel recommends a "Thermally
Advantaged Chassis" Google this term and you will see examples.

Basically it's a multi-fan case with a side air inlet that has a cone to
draw cool outside air directly over the Fan/Heatsink and a rear fan to blow
that air out of the case. Cases designed for PCI-X also have a ventilation
holes in the PCI-X slot area to cool Video cards specifically. 

The new P4's with 1MB and 2MB L2 cache really pump out the heat, and yes,
without the proper case design, temperature will rise rapidly when running
Prime95.

I have a 3.2 and it's kinda toasty back there.
