Howdy,
  The Reiser filesystem is a pretty good design, but the code has a
history of being a bit unstable.  It depends on which distro you use
whether I would recommend using Reiser.  SuSE wrings it out pretty well,
but most distros don't. Ext3 is stable, but not as complete as xfs, jfs,
or reiser.  It really only completely journals metadata.  I'd pick xfs
as the best choice, unless you are on a SuSE system and then I'd use
reiser.
