Greetings;
My negative experience with portables back in the 10,000 digit days
convinced me to run Prime 95 on a good desktop. Portables are great for
light duty and LL sure ain't that.

'course that's just one engineer's opinion.

Subject: [Prime] Query on estimated completion time.

Hi,
I've just taken on a 10M digit LL on my laptop (1.7GHz Pentium M), and of
course it's predicting a finish in December. An heroic undertaking indeed,
but we have been fully warned. Just wondering, how does the estimated finish
date work.
Does it just extrapolate forward from (total progress to date) / (time to
date) which would account for erratic usage and shutdowns and travel etc. Or
does it guesstimate from a shorter recent time period. Mine's also harder to
estimate since I'm using the Throttle setting to juggle temperature from
time to time. Tks, Greg E
