CMU's December 2005 discovery (9.1 million digits) took 5 days to 
confirm.  The post on mersenne.org says:  "Verification will begin shortly, 
probably taking a week or so to complete."   If this is taking 28% longer 
to confirm, either the confirmation machine is much slower (always a 
possibility), or the number is bigger.

Here's hoping for "bigger".
