The ranges have to do with the FFT size used in testing the numbers within that range. The numbers within the ranges get larger as you go down the table because the lower and upper limit for each range gets larger which means more potential primes in each range. The first range on the table is the largest because all the ranges below 12,830,000 have been combined into one for brevity's sake since all the numbers in that range have been cleared by PrimeNet. 2. The upper limit is 79,300,000. Again a curious number. Why this > number? 2 to the 26th would be about 67,000,000. I presume it's simply because 79,300,000 is the upper limit of the 4096K FFT size and as seeing how the leading edge of factoring is only 40,000,000 there's currently no need to go further. 3. Until the last status update there was 1 "status unknown" number between > 15,300,000 and 17,850,000.
