A computer can run for quite a while without rest. Really you should look at the condition the computer is kept. If its in a dusty room then you would need to clean it every 6 months or so. If the room is hot then you are looking at premature componet failure. Then you need to look at how long the parts are going to last. like computer fans last between 30000 and 80000 hours power supplies last depending on the power thats sent into them. If 120/240 is sent in at exactally that with no noise and very little difference / or spikes then it will last longer then if it has to rectify the power to the correct voltage though its self.
