My server has a 3.4 P4 with Hyper-threading. I recall when this was a Windows box, that the Task Manager would display two processor windows. I don't really understand the nuances of the P4, but I'm assuming that it somehow fools the OS into behaving as if there were two CPUs.
Now running linux on the same box; When I run two instances of mprime, both of them run at 100%. Is it fair to assume that I'm getting full output out of both of them? How do I tell? Frankly I'm more concerned about energy consumption on this furnace then performance. It has to be huge. I recall this processor idled at about 58C and often ran up to about 75C. Never had a failure. I confirmed that the cooling system was properly installed several times. (The machine ran too hot to use as a desktop machine: Heated up the room. Not very efficient.) Thanks, Heath _______________________________________________ Prime mailing list [email protected] http://hogranch.com/mailman/listinfo/prime
