  I get the following with the printer turned off.

GregP at 600-S:/usr/netbeans$ lpstat -t
scheduler is running
no system default destination
device for HP_j6480: socket://192.168.1.11:9100
HP_j6480 accepting requests since Fri Jan 30 16:09:30 2009
printer HP_j6480 is idle.  enabled since Fri Jan 30 16:09:30 2009
