I guess in the current world, the static capabilities of a printer/printQ would be held in an enterprise wide configuration database (eg. LDAP, or NamingService) along with its physical location - which is relatively easy to look up. But the more difficult bit is the non static stuff, like "Paper Type Currently Loaded", "Is Printer working" and "where is the user currently located". So a challenge to be solved. Paul :-)
