I've got an old workhorse printer that still works great, a "IBM" Lexmark 4039 10R. Unlike the "plus" version of this unit, this only does PostScript Level 1. From what I can gather, level 1 is no longer supported in the current print system. Is this right?
I've gotten things to work somewhat by declaring it a 4029 printer that uses PCL5. Unfortunately, this printer has an issue when auto-switching from PS mode to PCL5 mode and messes up the first page unless I manually switch it before printing from OpenSolaris. Is there a method to support PostScript level 1 printers or am I stuck? Thanks, Gary This message posted from opensolaris.org
