I see where you're going so I tried this:

--
 lpadmin -p 8100_series -n 
/usr/share/ppd/SUNWfoomatic/HP/HP-PhotoSmart_7150-hpijs.ppd.gz
---

There is and never has been an '8150' PPD - the actual model is an 
HP8150 PhotoSmart.
In the past, I selected '7150' from 'Print Manager'.

Once I changed the PPD, the commands started running, although printing 
from 'evince' isn't working
yet.

The funny thing is, when I tried this on a different (forgotten name) HP 
printer, it seemed
to get the correct model but

Anyway, this got me going. Thanks for the help!
