I have an issue printing from a labeled zone to a printer configured in global connected either USB or LPT.
Network configuration of my system is one IP on IPRB0 (192.168.1.1/24) set to all-zones and one IP for VNI0 (192.168.2.1/24) set to all-zones. The hostname for the global and all labeled zones is workstation1-vni which is tied to the VNI0 interface. >From global I used printmgr and used New Attached Printer to add the HP >printer connected to /dev/printers/0. Printer Name: HPLJ Print Server: workstation1-vni Start the printmgr in each labeled zone and used the Add Access to Printer Printer Name: HPLJ Print Server: 192.168.2.1 "using name caused error The Server must be a remote server" Description: HPLJ Default Printer: selected >From a labeled workspace using the print jobs window the printer displays >device is out of service. I have tried setting the global zone hostname to workstation1 so the print server is configured as worstation1 and not workstation1-vni. From the labeled zones I connect to Print Server workstation1 but still have the same issue. I would like to use this workstation "workstation1" as a print server for other workstations to print from their labeled zones. Currently I can print from the global zone of workstation2 to the printer on workstation1 but not from any labeled zones on either workstation. To use the system as a print or NFS server does it require global to have an explicit IP? The 2 workstations can communicate using SSH and have MLP tcp 515 configured for the Print Server.
