That is the reason for putting out the initial posting :)

The current status of the GTK+ printing stack is here:
http://live.gnome.org/GnomePrinting?highlight=%28printing%29
( as Paul was looking for it).

This is definetly going to be a big part of the desktop printing
solution, since we are working with the community and will continue to
do so, no point developing something that we will end up having to have
to maintain it ourselves.

One thing for sure, OpenSolaris/Solaris will suppliment the GTK+
printing stack in the backend for either PAPI/LP.

The GUI should abstract as much as possible the underlying
technologies from the users, agreed. Of course there have been so many
GUI were designed by engineers who know only too well the technologies
underneath and somehow reflected in the GUI design :) That is why we
need people of Calum.
