Hello everyone, We have a dilemma relating the patient's PHI disclosure consent for TPO. Let's say it is April 14, 2003, our billing department has a claim to submit on a service rendered on April 10, 2003. Is the provider required to get the patient's consent before disclosing this information? Note that the service was rendered before the compliance date for privacy. Will the answer to this question change if the claim has already been submitted, before April 14, 2003, and the Health Ins requests additional information on this patient after compliance date?
