You can see that it only indexes /usr/portage, and /usr/local/portage. So you have following choices: a) stop using layman and use the "SVN directly" method for the overlay b) use esearch in favor of eix, esearch can handle that. c) ask the eix developer why eix can't handle layman overlays and ask for a fix ;) Regards, Tom
