ahoy all,
on a first/fresh Gentoo+pro-audio install, had same problem and saw
same bug report. found this workaround on Gentoo forums:

which basically says to turn off sandbox for that 1 emerge:
FEATURES="-SANDBOX" emerge LIBFFADO
i do not know enough about Gentoo yet to know how bad/good. but
JACK+FFADO+Ardour seem to be working with it.

tell me about it, i ended up using ubuntu again cause was never able to
get jack and ffado to cooperate under gentoo :S
i will try again in a moment.. is a question of booting into it and
finding out if i hit it again.
