I heard the same thing about version 7 but sadly not. I've been told buy another Mac developer that makes plugins for ProTools that Digidesign have changed compilers to X code to ease the transition to Intel Macs. I don't fully understand the implications of this as I'm not a programmer but I think it is relevant in some way.
