For the sake of keeping the subject clear for those who just scan subject lines without necessarily reading each message, I've changed the subject and pasted the original below:
>From Rick Boggs DigiDesign is aware of the fact that ProTools is not currently compatible with the Voice Over feature of the Apple Mac OS. The Western Regional Sales Manager and his superior are both aware, in addition to the head of the development division and two employees in that same division. We have repeatedly asked DigiDesign to simply announce their intention to insure that the ProTools software will become compatible with Voice over at some point. To date, no such announcement has been made. Apparently, the person in charge of assigning the specific programming tasks is concerned that this compatibility issue will require an inordinate amount of time to complete. It is important that we, as audio recording technology consumers, make DigiDesign aware that dozens or hundreds of blind and low vision producers are using or intend to use ProTools. It may be time to organize a petition, since several discussions with appropriate personnel have not produced any forward momentum. If we could get a count from this list of how many would sign a petition asking DigiDesign to announce their intent to insure compatibility with Voice Over, then we could assess our potential effectiveness. Please state on this list if you would be willing to sign such a petition. Thank you. Remember, DigiDesign did intentionally make adjustments to their software in 1994 so that it would be compatible with outSPOKEN, so this is not a novel idea.
