[PRODIG] epson1290 photoshop7 problems

hi all,

im new to the forum,so sorry if im treading on old ground here.My problem is that when printing in p7 under osx 2 or 3 lines will be printed then a long pause of about 5-10 seconds before the next 2 or 3 lines are printed(arrrrrggghh!!!!).Which has tripled,quadrupled the amount of time which is taken to do the same print in os9.In all other applications under osx the printer works fine.Ive got plenty of ram (650)and i am using a g4 466 so i am pretty sure that i am not under specced.I have tried alloting p7 diff amounts of ram i.e. 1/2,3/4 of all available but still no change .
help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
