it's OK where it is. The displays folder is used by the OS, not by users.

leave it as Generic, it's actually only there for non colorsync savvy
applications to give them a profile to base display upon.
have you looked to see if photoshop is using the profile?
look at
Photoshop/
color settings
in that window look for :
workingspaces / RGB , click the pulldown and above the chosen
workingspace you'll see Monitor RGB: your profile name here[we hope].
Don't forget to set it back to the workingspace, it is not advisable to
use the monitor space as a Photoshop workingspace.
