Geoff I transplanted a DVD from a Quicksilver 867 into a Graphite 450 and it works fine. It does write at 2x thru Toast on General DVD discs. It does seem slow in comparison, but normally this doesn't affect us to much.
Also, just to point out that there will shortly be faster media than 2x available, however Apple say that some drives (like the Pioneer's - Superdrives) will need a software update to use them, but only at 1x - not 2x like you can get with media at the moment?!? Work that one out! We have retrospect but don't use it with the Superdrive - however RS backs up to CDR media, so I don't see why it can't to DVD. I've also just had some new prices for Verbatim DVD's which for the first time on media we use work out cheaper than archiving to CDR.
