... ram incompatibilities, scssi card incompatibilities ....3 hours of telephone support and apple says its adaptec's fault.... to their credit adaptec tech support sent me an e.mail telling me to use the OSX 10.2.2 combo update

and bingo all is fine and I'm now able to see my CD drive again and use my new OSX camera software which behaves much better than it did in 10.13, Cheers Imacon.
Only thing is I cant figure out how to import my address book from outlook to mail .....ldif format??? (sorry nick T, I lost the mail you sent, something about an apple script to do the conversion)
isn't all this a pain when you have to make photographs in between??
