This has always been the case. Use save for web and don't include profiles
for the web. JPG and save as >format JPG is justly that, an image compressed
with all the pertinent information in the file like multiple size image
icons etc. The file size of the extra data is more often than not larger
than an image saved in a normal web sized image.
