Michael - you might try www.Hasselconverter.com which is
a US firm that's been advertising in the back of the US
ASMP Bulletin for several years. I don't have direct
knowledge of this outfit, but their print ads suggest that
they're selling some kind of voltage regulator/battery
module that eliminates the need for rechargeable cells
altogether.
