>Duncan - comments on print quality, and comparison to more traditional
Lightjet prints?

Very good! The 9600 has been profiled by Neil Barstow and the print out
of the Profile Verification Image compared to the original (Lightjet)
print is very good. I haven't used any glossy stock yet, the printer has
only been profiled for Somerset Enhanced Velvet, so a direct comparison
isn't quite possible yet.

With this profile it is also printing out some fantastic black and
whites, which I had previously printed on a 9000 with Lyson Quad/Hex
Black. They look just as good but without the metamerism that the QB
suffer from - they take on a magenta tinge under tungsten light.

There is a feature called the Epson Grey Balancer which is aimed at
producing neutral b/w or toned if desired. I haven't as yet had
experience with it, the 120 page user guide initially put me off!, but I
will be looking at it to see how it compares and generally works - it's
one of these things that will probably take some time to work through
the testing cycle but may be useful in the end. I believe Epson have
decided not to release the Gray Balancer software in the US - is that
correct?

Kind regards
