Thanks all for the comforting responses to this. I have received info from
Bob and others on private e-mail about this interesting option of adding
noise, not blur, to potentially help some file.Actually the addition of
noise has become a common way to make digital files from camera  look
more like film.

Problem is that the more one gets into this, the more you have to get in.

 Now that I know what kind of goofy treatment my files may get in the wrong
hands, then I assume I will have to spend more time on the computer, and
most likely, end up running my own cmyk conversions.
 As this is going to be a step by step thing, I will start  by coming back
later in the week as soon as I confirm some interesting research I have been
doing with the GretagMacbeth color chart and a simple method of internal
calibration( not profiling)  for digital cameras and some interesting
re-discoveries about the chart.
