[PRODIG] Ink levels reliability

1290/Lyson prints suddenly without yellow, no yellow after cleaning, no yellow after purge print. Ink levels say lots of yellow, in fact exactly the same amount of all 5 colours. Has anyone ever seen Ink levels showing differing amounts of colour remaining? I don't think I have.

Or is it just a,
"you have some ink left and have a look at a pretty coloured representation of your ink cartridge whilst you are checking, in reality I cannot be bothered to check all 5 of your ink levels."
type of utility?
