Again, and as Paul said, save a bit more and get the Canon 1Ds, which is
currently shipping and will be in you hand months before the Kodak 14n.

These two cameras may be said to practically replace medium format so they
really are something o ponder.
However, the Canon is not on your 3500pounds mark.

THe S2 only makes some big files by way of an interpolation algoryhtm in
camera. It's no true pixels all the way. If you choose not to accept
interpolation, then it is just another 6Mp camera, along with Canon D60 and
Nikon D100 pricewise, and then, I would rather pick a Nikon than a Fuji, and
first of all, a Canon. Canon glasses are just something.

I ask, do you have good lenses of both Canon and Nikon, that you don't seem
to care much about this? Most make their choice based on their current list
of lenses available, in order to lower the amount of investment to jump into
digital.

For the moment , your pocket is almost ready for the new generation of
cameras. No one has one in his hands to offer a strong support in favor of
one or the other.

If you are entering digtal , and may not need all the file size coming form
those new cameras, get the D60 or the D100 or the S2 and enjoy a great
startup, with a moderate investment. Then , by next summer ,go for the real
meat, most likely, with a reduced price tag..

   All the best.
