In Photoshop you can do it by creating your ending folder first. Then create your action with your processed test image being saved in that ending folder. Then run your batch, running the specified action on your folder of images. Be careful with your originals and run the batch on a folder of duplicate images.

Is there any way of batch processing a file or CD of Tiffs to Jpegs (to
speed up my contact sheet software) without opening each image and using
actions?  I'm getting fed up watching the blue bar........
