Dear List

I have noticed a problem in Indesign2 of "document size jumping" in the
horizontal axis. This is when working in millimetres. The documents sometimes
jump when reopening to an amount smaller by 3 decimal places of a millimetre.
Talking about it to a mac fixer yesterday he said he had encountered the same
problem with flat bed scanners. At first he thought Epson were at fault but
had an opportunity to line up three scanners together and found that
Photoshop altered the horizontal measure by a very small fraction. He now has
a theory that Adobe probably use inches as a base measure and that metric is
done by mathmatical conversion deep inside the programmes. Have they got the
horizontal calculation wrong or is there another explanation?

Thanks
