I am a somewhat ancient digital artist and a former university teacher (drawing & painting). Although I am not employed gainfully, I am a pro bono volunteer for graphic and computer duties in my community, Vashon Island, WA, US. I have 12 years experience using Photoshop on both platforms; I quit making tangible art some time ago and make all my personal work digitally. You may check my gallery at my website: http://www.vashonstar.com . The gallery is entered by the link which says, oddly enough, "Visit a digital gallery." I have created directory pages for the local arts alliance and political composites for a local environmental cause. I tutor newbies in the mysteries of computer graphics (favorite headscratcher: *resolution*). I help run a small local computer club, along with my retired husband, and publish monthly a small color newsletter for the club. Along with my husband, I have learned how to build personal computers and we have installed a home network. I run an informal help desk for my newbies and others, especially other senior citizens like myself, as well as being involved with the local Youth Council. I am soon embarking on some help for our local Youth & Family Services--teaching them to use PageMaker to create flyers and other publications. Their PageMaker is on a Mac, which none of them understand. I haven't used a Mac recently, since I now live on the Dark Side, but am sure I can get back to it. (with possible help from this list which I am sure is heavily populated with Mac gurus.) Looking forward to enlightenment and maybe even contributing from time to time, Almita Ranstrom, the Cybergrannie of Vashon Island
