Apologies if this is OT, but it's certainly linked to digital imaging...

For the last year or so, I've been successfully transmitting pictures from
an Ibook using a Soft GSM usb cable to connect a Nokia 6210. Until the phone
connection terminals started to wear out, the set up was reasonably
reliable, and worked in pretty much all weather conditions (primarily from
pitchside at football and rugby matches).

However, since upgrading to a Nokia 6310 (which has the same connections)
and a new Soft GSM cable, I've found that it's virtually impossible to
connect in cold or damp weather. Inside, or in a car (provided it's not too
cold) everything works fine, but not in the open when it's cold or wet.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, or does anyone have any experience
of other USB friendly ways of connecting a mobile to an Ibook?

I know there's something around called a Palladio, which I think does the
same job, but I've not seen one in use, and I think it doesn't offer as fast
a transmission speed as you can get with the Soft GSM set up.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks

John
