Thank you for your email regarding the article; How to get good creative work on a budget. I am sorry to hear that you think that it offers poor advice. I can assure you that it was merely intended to offer practical advice to small businesses that have no budget to spend on developing their promotional material. Unlike many large corporations, small businesses simply don't have the resources at their disposal to spend a lot on producing marketing material and this article seeks to explore the alternatives.

The fact that a professional photographer would do a better job than an amateur was never in doubt. Indeed, the second paragraph begins: "There really is no substitute for getting a trained graphic designer and/or photographer to handle the creative side of producing your marketing materials." The article also concludes that the results of using an amateur can yield poor results as well as good and that there is no quality assurance.

At clearlybusiness we aim to provide our users with useful guides and articles that will enable them to run their business more effectively and more profitably. In this case we were looking to provide guidance to those who would like to use a creative agency/photographer but have no real budget to do so.

However, as a result of feedback we have amended the article slightly to emphasise that it is advice for those with very little or no budget, for whom the alternative would be no creative work at all.

While we endeavour to provide all our users with sound advice and information we do not pretend to be experts in every field. As such if you could provide us with any advice or tips that we could use in an article aimed at businesses which may have some budget to be able to use a professional creative/design agency or photographer, and which would provide our users with useful information for when they use a professional photographer for their creative work then I would really appreciate it and your expertise would be most welcome.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Once again, many thanks for the feedback,
