There are a few ways of doing this. The method is different depending on
what sort of
server your site is on, what features are allowed/active and your level of
knowledge.

Your site is running on a freenetname server running Zeus webserver,so I'd
call them to check.

A standard method of securing a directory would be to place an .htaccess
file in the directory
containing the images. This file can be written in a text editor and
uploaded with a coresponding
password file using standard ftp software.

If your ISP does not allow the use of .htaccess files, some have a 'control
panel' allowing you to
password protect a folder.

If even this is not available and your ISP wont do it for you, you can use
some JAVAscript but most
of these method involve encoding the directory name rather than creating a
proper challenge / response
request for a password.

Last choice is to put the images somewhere that will allow the methods
described and calling them from your
page.

If you need more info / help, please contact me on 07702 965064 and I'll do
what I can.

Best of luck

J Mansfield
