Its certainly fast enough. But not that great a difference, I'm finding. > > Clever how it automatically imports your favourites into the bookmarks > folder and there is a "pop up'" killer too. Yes its great how it imports all of your "old set" of bookmarks, but doesn't notice how you've been using Chimera Navigator for the past few months, so doesn't pick up your new ones. Plus Chimera's bookmarks are stored in a different format and don't import easily into IE or Safari :-( Also doesn't render all pages correctly. I've already had a problem with the Macworld site and my on-line bank, Cahoot, won't display its at all. It will display the opening pages, but not the actual secure one's. Also missing Tabbed pages, that Chimera has. Really nice feature. Also missing the Auto password fill of Chimera. Doesn't even have a form fill to make up for it, that 'orrible old MS IE has. Yes its very pretty. And yes I'm really glad they've released it. Hey, I cheered while watching the live keynote from London, in my cellar. But it seems like its got a long way to go before I will actually consider switching to it. At present I'm mainly using Chimera, which is much faster than IE, but I still keep IE in the dock and have to use it frequently, when pages () signs don't appear correctly etc. I also miss the auto form fill of IE. I also hope the bookmarks thing sorts itself out, as organising bookmarks has to be one of the worst things about all browsers. > Back to the powerbook though, nice touch having the keyboard light up > automatically. Very nice if you need that function, I'm sure. But not exactly a selling point for me. I was a little upset at the announcement of new powerbooks, considering my latest one arrived five days before Xmas. However on hearing further details, I think I would have still opted for the 15" (for my needs). I'm not knocking the 17", it looks remarkable. But I do think that it would start to cross the boundary for a lot of people, of being too big to be portable. (It also wouldn't fit in my case, atop the other 15" titanium, that I have :-). More interesting is that its made out of non-painted aluminium. At least the damn paint won't fall off! I was more impressed by the 12" Powerbook. Which is very cheap and could be very a very interesting purchase for many people. Yes the screens small, but the resolution doesn't appear to be too bad (I'd have to see one in person). But would be a great location laptop perhaps. Regards Paul PS Sorry if this is a little off topic. And also boring for the non-Apple folk out there. -- Paul Tansley Fashion & Beauty Photography London +44 (0) 7973 669584 http://www.paultansley.com =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
