On a slightly different tack there is another interesting coming use of inkjets to print electronic circuitry. Its described in the current edition of WIRED. The article describes how plastics have been developed which conduct electricity. These can be sprayed from an inkjet to make relatively large scale circuits.
These plastics can also radiate light when passing a current (the main purpose of this exercise). While the circuitry is too large to build large scale integrated circuits etc, it could be used for applications such as ultra-thin and throwaway displays. ie: you could roll up a display and put it in your pocket... or heaven forbid you would buy a can of baked beans which had a moving advert built into the label. Shades of Minority Report with that one.
