Hello to all on Prodig list, This is my intro as required. My name is Simon Ryder, I am a freelance photographer working from North Yorkshire mainly for editorial and PR clients.
I could do with some advice and hope that my question isn't OT. I have recently acquired a Nokia 6310i mobile phone and wish to use it for data transmission with a G3 powerbook running mac OS 8.6. I have tried connecting via the Infrared port but keep getting the message that 'their is no carrier signal.....' or 'the modem is not responding properly.....' (I believe I have configured the modem correctly in the modem control panel, selecting - CONNECT VIA -IR port and MODEM - Nokia Infrared) I understand that I can also connect via a cable to a USB port or Bluetooth but all the info that comes with the phone relates only to PC and not Mac. Any advice on how to get the 6310i working with my G3 Laptop would be greatly appreciated.
