Dear list,

Just been playing with a few settings on my pc. I am running windows xp
pro with photoshop 7 and 1gb ram with an amd 2gb chip.

With the rather interesting (well to me it was) gaussian blur tests a
while ago, my first time was 18s, with 75% of ram assigmed to photoshop,
I however increased it to 100% and it dropped to 11s. I was understood
to think from martin evenings book that to assign any more than 75% gave
very little rise in performance.

Maybe that only applied to windows 98/me etc. Is that diffent on nt
based stations which is effectively what mine is. It seems a worthwhile
hike in speed.

Are there any other nt based settings I can make which would speed
things up a lot, I know there was a guide on the adobe website. I run an
80gb drive fro the scatch disk.

Cheers

Ian Reynolds
