It is a legacy file from an (early) version of Kodak's PhotoCD colour
management software. Apparently, it clears a video card's CLUT tables in
preparation for system loading of (early) versions of ColorSync.

Not necessary, and nothing to worry about. You maybe better off working with
VueScan if it supports your scanner.
