Thank you to List, I would like to thank all those who replied with suggestions for fixing colour moire.
A common theme was blurring a & b channels in Lab mode. However, there was also strong banding in the Lightness channel. Regarding repositioning / tilting the camera, subject etc. Well, of course, it was a location job & I only saw the pattern after I returned. (Fuji S2 camera, untethered) Rod Wynne-Powell & Shangara Singh applied their skills to the sample image I posted & emailed results to me. Both were helpful. However, the best result came from the action Stephen Marsh emailed. The best overall appearance for the least amount of fuss. Thanks Stephen.
