Hi I'm afraid this may not help much, but I was never able to get custom sizes working properly on my 1160 until 10.2 and its CUPS printing architecture. This was one of the reasons I mainly kept with OS9 until 10.2 I'm finding printing a whole lot easier now, especially with the availability of gimp-print (free) I've even been able to make use of a PC only HP printer for printing from OS9 and X. The printing improvements were a major feature in getting me to fork out for the upgrade.
