On the CMYK issue - CMYK JPG is an unofficial Adobe extension to the standard, if I remember correctly. Remember the APS7 JPG scum dot issue resolved in 7.0.1? Does J2K leave your pure whites clean? There is also the option of using split channels on a cmyk or other file, and sending out email of each separation to be merged by the other person - with instructions (if size is a concern).
