> I would rather pay more & keep the jobs here.

I promise you neither you nor any of your fellows will ever complain about
NOT doing any of those jobs. It's plain rethotical BS about loosing work at
home.SHould the factories remain in UK or US lands, employees would be all
from minority groups.

And quality does not have to be an issue here, if specs are followed. Many
products from India are just as good or better than the "local"ones and
regarding clothing, Indian Cotton is by far one of the best of he planet,
along with the egiptyan and a couple others, so in terms of material Indian
quality is unbeatable.
I won't bet on all chinese made things in the same way, but just as I can
remember as a kid on those eras( the 60's), that we all knew something
labeled " Made in Japan" was a really crappy toy and second quality gift,
I can 't say the same thing today. On many ocasiosn improvements come as a
result of well applied optimisation methods , and if this improvements also
lead to lower productions costs, so be it. Also we have to recall that mass
production always lead to smaller costs.Indian and chinese labeled products
may be as good as any other "local" one.

There has always been this discussion about how to charge in digital
services, like retouching, since an hourly rate is a well stablished
method, all I can say is that the most knowkedgable guy in PS and other
tools will do many more things in a hour than a newbie, and if some sort of
standard pricing is taken as reference, then, does it make sense that the
newbie could be charging his/her clients more than an expert, just based in
his poorly optimised methods of work??

Well, same thing .

   All the best.
