There was an issue with Photoshop and Jaguar (OS X 10.2) where several users were reporting frequent Photoshop application crashes and these were linked to using the File Browser. Particularly if you were inspecting a large folder of images or were not saving composite layers with your large files.
I know this was a major problem for me and I remember Simon Martin on this list also reported a lot of PS7 crashes. This should be the solution:
