Richard,

I am a wedding/portrait photographer and use Olympus E10s. I have been
perfectly happy with the results for around 2 years. Needed to spend a bit
of money before the end of the tax year, so today I bought an E20 to use as
my main camera. Yes, ok, it is a bit over your friend's budget, but he could
shop around?

No problems at A4, up to 20"x16" printing on big Epson printer - (sorry,
have again forgotten the
number- ahem - pigment ink printer, maybe 7600) is fine.

Your friend might also consider looking at the Nikon S2, which in low light
conditions appears to perform slightly better than the E10.

BTW, I very much agree with Ian Reynolds who says
 >expose for highlights
whatever you choose.
